Block Garden is a puzzle about fitting three pieces onto an 8×8 board. Place pieces in empty cells without rotating them. Complete a row or column to clear it; crossing lines completed by the same move clear together.
Use all three pieces to receive a new tray. Clearing several lines at once and keeping a combo going earn extra points. Play until no remaining piece fits, then optionally save your score to the weekly or all-time leaderboard with a nickname.
Yes. There is no timer rushing your next placement and no account is required. You can resume an unfinished round in the same browser within six hours of starting it.
Clear again before making three consecutive placements with no clear to continue a combo. Multiple lines and combos earn extra points. When you submit a score, the server replays your placements and undo; it does not accept the displayed score alone.
Choose between two numbers for questions about population, percentages and rates of change. Each question allows 20 seconds. A wrong answer or an expired timer ends the run; your score is the number of correct answers in a row.
Check the year, region and unit before choosing. The explanation and source after each answer help show why similar statistics can describe different things. At the end, you can submit a nickname to the weekly and all-time leaderboards.
The year and definition in the question determine the answer. Survey dates and denominators can change a value, so check the explanation and original source when the answer is revealed.
A friend challenge uses the same questions for a friendly score comparison. Since the answers can already be known, these runs do not enter the main leaderboard.
Choose a learning language different from your interface language, then select easy, medium, hard or progressive difficulty. You have 20 seconds to match a word or phrase to one of two translated choices. One mistake or timeout ends the run.
Choices show concise equivalent meanings instead of long dictionary definitions. After every answer, right or wrong, you can read an example in the learning language and its translation into your interface language. Continue with the next button when you have finished reading.
Some words and phrases have several direct translations. The game groups relevant meanings together; this does not mean they are interchangeable in every context. Read the example to see one use.
Leaderboards are separate for each learning language and difficulty. Start with easy for a gentler round, or choose progressive to move through increasing levels.
